Re: Filmmaking with mcpro24fps

Hi. I like the app a lot, but I'm not interested in advanced color grading with LUTs and all that. I just want to shoot 4K@30 or 4K@60 with noise reduction and sharpness enhancement disabled and then edit the videos in Adobe Premiere. I experimented a lot with LUTs and different gamut/gamma combinations, but it's too much work to make the output look... normal. I'm mostly interested in 10-bit HEVC because it's much more flexible than the "standard" 8-bit AVC.

I just want to prevent Samsung's default camera app from butchering the videos with the enhanced sharpness and noise reduction. I can do that to photos thanks to my phone's ability to shoot RAW images, now I want to do something similar with video.

I'm using Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra (Exynos) with Android 13. I asked these questions on other forums to no avail. Can someone please help me out?

Have you problems with 10-bit HEVC activation?

Exynos don't allow 3rd party apps to turn off sharpening. There is a setting, but the device does not respond in any way.

No, 10-bit HEVC works fine. Both in mcpro24fps and the default camera app.

I had no idea! Well, I guess that's one less thing to worry about. It sucks that Snapdragon is only available in the US and China (according to GSMarena).

Re: Filmmaking with mcpro24fps

Greetings,
I have a Samsung S25 Ultra phone. When I take a video with the mcpro24fps app, the video plays back darker than when viewed as I recorded it. It's as if the exposure setting was reduced. I did not change any settings from the default.
What can be causing this?
Thanks...
Gary

Re: Filmmaking with mcpro24fps

Greetings,
Got another question...
Is there a way to get a 'level' to show on the screen when taking video? I get one with the S25's video but when I switch to the app, there is none.

Also, is there an icon in the app's screen to press to close the app? I have to touch the (not sure of the name) icon that gives me the options to power off or go 'back' and others, but no icon on the app itself. I have to touch the 'back' icon.
Is there another way?

Re: Filmmaking with mcpro24fps

Greetings,
As with the exposure question I have with the video, I see the same problem taking images.
The image from the Samsung S25 Ultra looks correct.
However, the same image taken with the mcpro24fps looks underexposed.
See the attachments. I don't see any way of correcting the mcpro24fps program to replicate what the Samsung phone takes.
Any ideas?
Gary

Re: Filmmaking with mcpro24fps

It's really too bad that I can't get any responses to questions about problems or how to use the program. Waste of money and time so far.
